Pennie is a graduate of Paris American High School-Paris, France, University of Maryland-Munich, Germany, and Troy University-Montgomery. She has worked for the Alabama House of Representatives, Alabama Legislative Fiscal Office, and Alabama Ethics Commission. Pennie is retired from Alabama Governor's Office, Part-time-Capitol Resources of Alabama (consulting firm). She formerly served as a volunteer/board member with Rebuilding Together, Attorney General's Victim's Council, Leadership Elmore County (Class of 2011) and Troy Interpreter Training Program Advisory Group. Currently she serves with VOCAL (Victims of Crime and Leniency), Alabama Dual Party Relay System for the Deaf, Mourning to Morning (mothers who have lost a child), Wetumpka First United Methodist Church, and Elmore County Food Pantry.
